Celebrate Space Day at Whitaker Center from 9:00am-2:00pm!
Whitaker Center will be hosting a World Space Week celebration on October 9, 2021. This year's theme is Women in Space and Whitaker Center is proud to host Dr. Jan Davis, NASA Astronaut, as the keynote speaker for the event. She will share her journey and accomplishments from her three space shuttle missions. The Space Day celebration will also include viewing of Apollo 11: First Steps Edition and hands-on activities and exploration in the Harsco Science Center and STEM Design Studios for all participants. The day will wrap up with a Meet and Greet and photo signing with Dr. Davis.
Admission to Whitaker Center on this day will include all Space Day activities, the documentary, speaking engagement, and a meet the astronaut opportunity. You will receive a wristband upon entry to gain access to all spaces throughout the day. Families will have the opportunity to complete the programming offerings as they see fit for their family.
Please note - For the safety of our visitors and staff, all visitors age 2 and above are required to wear masks for this event. A special Space Day mask will be available for those in attedance on a first come, first serve basis.

This exciting day is made possible by the new Space Education Fund to support space-related programming and activities at Whitaker Center. R. Timothy and Mary Webber Weston have generously provided the seed money and leadership gift to launch this fund.
