corner of Third and Market Streets. 222 Market Street Harrisburg, PA 17101
From I-83
Take the 2nd Street Exit and follow 2nd Street to Market Street (4th stoplight).
Turn right onto Market Street.
From the PA Turnpike
Take Exit 247 (Harrisburg East). Take 1-283 North to I-83 South. Take
the 2nd Street Exit and follow 2nd Street to Market Street (4th stoplight).
Turn right onto Market Street.

Parking
Arriving
by Bus or Large Van
All buses must use the North 3rd Street Entrance to drop-off and pickup
passengers. To get to this entrance, pass Whitaker Center and turn left
from Market Street onto 4th Street. Turn left onto Walnut Street, and
then make a final left onto 3rd Street. The designated bus zone at our
3rd Street Entrance is located just past the overhead walkway to Strawberry
Square. Please stay on the bus until a member of the Education Department
staff greets you and provides detailed parking instructions.
Bus Parking
Bus parking is located off-site at Harrisburg East Mall. Arrangements
for bus parking must be made with Whitaker Center School Reservations
Office. A map to the bus parking area will be provided upon arrival. Bus
parking spaces are shared and cannot be guaranteed.
Arriving by Car or Van
Parking is available for a nominal fee in the Walnut Street Garage. Take
the garage elevator to the Strawberry Square Arcade level. Upon entering
Whitaker Center, please assemble your group near Wonders The Arts &
Science Store on Whitaker Center Arcade Level and ask an Information Desk
representative to contact the Education Department to announce your group’s
arrival. A member of the Education Department staff will meet you.
Walnut Street Garage Information
The Walnut Street Garage is located on Walnut Street between 2nd and 3rd
Streets and is connected to Whitaker Center by an interior walkway and
elevator. Whitaker Center entrance is located on the Strawberry Square
Arcade level. Please note there is a height restriction on this garage
of 6'6." Driver of vans that exceed the height restriction should
inquire at the School Reservations Office about alternative parking options.
From I-83
Take the 2nd Street exit to Market Street. Turn right onto Market
Street and pass Whitaker Center. Turn left onto 4th Street and make
another left onto Walnut Street. Go through the intersection with
3rd Street and the entrance to the Walnut Street Garage is almost
immediately on your left.
From Front Street
Turn left onto Locust Street. Turn right onto 3rd Street. Turn right
onto Walnut Street and get into the left lane immediately. The Walnut
Street Garage entrance is on the left. |
Reduced-rate parking passes for the Walnut Street Garage can be purchased
at THE BOX.
