Ongoing
It’s Shocking
Hair will rise and sparks will fly in the shocking world of static electricity during this interactive demonstration. Using the Van de Graaff generator, we illustrate electron build-up, discharge, and static electricity safety. We get a charge out of this show, and you will too! (PA Academic Standards: 1.6.3A; 1.6.3C; 3.4.4B; 3.4.4C; 9.1.3I)
Super Cold Science
There’s something cool in the air…it’s nitrogen! Liquid nitrogen, which boils at a temperature of -278 degrees Fahrenheit, is used by NASA, your podiatrist, and now Whitaker Center! We shatter balloons and liquefy your breath as we illustrate the three states of matter. (PA Academic Standards: 3.1.4B; 3.1.4E; 3.4.4A; 3.4.4B) Specialty gases provided by Airgas, Inc.

Stuffee is underwritten by Capital BlueCross and presented in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Gift of Life Donor Program.
