Joe Pug And The Hundred Mile Band
With special guest Rayland Baxter

Maryland native Joe Pug studied at the University of North Carolina, with the intention of becoming a playwright. He eventually relocated to Chicago to pursue his passion of songwriting and released his debut EP, Nation of Heat, in 2008. With a sound and style often compared to country/folk archetypes Bob Dylan and John Prine, Pug has garnered critical attention and a growing fan base all on his own.

Since 2008, Pug has toured extensively and opened for alt-country pioneer Steve Earle, singer/songwriter Josh Ritter, among others. He released his first full-length album, Messenger, in February 2010.

Amy SpeaceFriday, July 30, 7pm
Amy Speace
With special guest Mark DeRose

Raised in Pennsylvania, Amy Speace initially had wanted a career as a playwright/actor. After touring with the prestigious National Shakespeare Company, Speace turned her creative talents to songwriting. In 2002 she released her solo debut, Fable.

Speace’s latest album, The Killer In Me, marks her creative leap from 2006’s breakthrough effort, Songs For Bright Street. Her current album digs into deeper, darker lyrical and musical terrain, based largely on relationships gone wrong, then right and wrong again. The album delivers a startling intimacy and resonance to Speace fans.

Horse FeathersFriday, August 20, 7pm
Horse Feathers
With special guest Brooks West

Often compared to indie band Iron & Wine, Horse Feathers specializes in a unique sound and style of its own. With an eclectic mix of guitars, piano, drums, cellos, violins, banjos, and even a saw ─ the Oregon-based group started as a duo in 2006, before expanding to its current 4-piece ensemble.

With three full-length albums under his belt, vocalist/guitarist Justin Ringle continues to lead Horse Feathers with his quiet intensity. Supported by multi-instrumentalist Sam Cooper, violinist Nathan Crockett and cellist Catherine Odell, these backing members take Ringle’s emotional guitar tunes to the next level. On the band’s first album as a quartet, Thistled Spring, Ringle continues to explore broken relationships and pain through a signature melodic sound.
