DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
We seek a professional who can bring the high energy and enthusiasm to take the center’s fundraising program to new level of success. The Director of Development will be responsible for building on a very successful fundraising program that includes membership, special events and an active volunteer program. Working closely with the President, the Director of Development is responsible for a comprehensive development program and the execution of a capital campaign.
The Director of Development is a member of the senior staff and plays a critical role in strategic planning and management decisions. He/she is staff liaison to several Board committees and works in close partnership with all departments across the center. The Director of Development will supervise, train and motivate the development staff.
Required Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree. An advanced degree and CFRE are preferred.
- Minimum of five years demonstrated senior level non-profit fundraising experience, including successful major donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Excellent communicator with strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled writer with success in preparing grant applications and other solicitation materials.
- Knowledge and experience with standard desktop computer software and fundraising database software.
- Excellent problem solving skills, good judgment and ability to handle difficult situations with grace and discretion.
