First Ever Spooktacular Science at Whitaker Center

This fall Whitaker Center has Halloween down to a science, providing guests with an educational, fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween. Spooktacular Science offers interactive activities and games for ‘mad scientists’ of all ages. Spooktacular Science is included with Science Center admission. Separate fee applies for IMAX® movies.

Frighteningly Fun Festivities
Storytime Science - KidsPlace invites children ages 5 and under for playtime of fall activities and special stories.
Spooky Mask-Making - Boo! Create a spooky creature make-n-take mask.
Ooze Flask Demo, Bubbling Cauldron Demo and Alka-Seltzer Rockets - Join us as we unleash the eerie powers of chemistry.
Haunted House of Cards Competition - Test your skills and strategy while building the tallest towering card house.
Magic Spiral Staircase Competition - Teams will attempt to create the longest and creepiest spiral staircase before it crumbles.
Slime Races - Get ready ... get set ... slime! If you dare, whip up your own “gak” and race your slimiest masterpiece against other ooze.
‘Mad Scientist’ Scavenger Hunt Put your brain to the test and explore three spooky, fun floors of the Science Center to hunt down answers to the scientific clues.
PLEASE NOTE: Mad scientists who participate in the scavenger hunt will receive one voucher to see the widly funny IMAX® comedy, Animalopolis. Vouchers can be redeemed at Whitaker Center’s information desk and turned into the box office for a showtime of the winner’s choice. Prize only applies to child participants (ages 12 and under).

Haunted Castle 3D

In conjunction with Spooktacular Science, Whitaker Center will also feature Haunted Castle 3D. The spooky IMAX film follows the story of a young musician who inherits a mysterious castle and discovers haunting sprits and a host of eerie sites. Running Time: Approx. 40 min. MPAA Rating: PG.
